On the 21st of September the bioinformatici will organise an excursion to Genetwister Technologies. Genetwister is an innovative Dutch biotechnology company, with an international position in commercially applied biotechnology of agri- and horticultural crops. The Bioinformatics department at Genetwister applies information technology to the research performed at the company. Within this department, expertise in the fields of molecular biology, information technology, statistics and programming is combined to support gene discovery, breeding, metabolic engineering and diagnostics. An important activity is visualization of data, as this will help the other departments and the clients to convert the results into applications. The department has developed tools for analyzing sequencing data, SNP discovery (CROPaware™ software), genome analysis and analysis of expression data from custom oligoarrays.
