Traditional meat is still a major protein source for the European population. As 70% of the greenhouse gas emissions in Europe is accounted by the production of meat1, it should be clear that we should change the production of proteins for human consumption. Novel protein sources, such as cultured meat, single cell protein, and plant-based protein sources are all on their way to feed the future population of Europe. How will these novel proteins influence society? And when can we expect these new protein sources in our diet? Discuss these and other questions in a symposium with various spokespeople including spokespeople from the companies: The Protein Brewery, Meatable, and Grassa. The symposium will take place in Omnia and is free for every student at the WUR, sign up via: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/421264392137.
After the symposium, there will be a drink in the Faculty club novum to discuss the symposium and to network with other students and companies.
